How I would finish my game.

If I could improve my game I would add a score system so you can track your progress. Then I would add lots of levels with harder questions more challenging levels. I would like to have had the score system on the game for the presentation but i dind't have enough time. So that is what I would do if I had a more time to work on the game.

group review

On the game my partner Brooke manged to make a directions scene and a help scene. But in her two scenes it took me ten minuets to fix the spelling errors. But I have to give her credit she actually got the scenes to work properly on the first try. I sum how manged to make the rest of the game. If you were to make it into a percentage this is what it would be Brooke-20% me-80%. That's the percentages of what part of the game we made.

Final game

I finally finished our game. It took a while but I think the end result was worth the wait. I have a total of three levels that go through different areas with diverse climates. It has a good story and a nice ending if you can beat it. The graphics are pretty good it took me a while to make the character for our game. He turned out nice he looks a little dorky but that's okay.

What I have left to do.

I don't have a lot to do because I have a lot of scenes. I have to fix all of the speling errors that my partner has made but shouldn't take to long. I have made a new bike with a rider on it so it looks better. I have lots of different backgrounds to ride through. The last thing I have to due is make a credits scene and put music on it.

Change

I have put a scrolling background on our game. It works and looks very nice. We have made the numbers move and you have to hit them. They move and react like they are supposed to but I still have to work on them some more. We have also decided not to have a rider on the bike at this point in time. But that could change if we find a picture of someone to put on it. If we don't than it will remain an empty dirt bike that drives itself.

Peer evaluations.


We learned a lot about our game during this process. We learned that my partner can't spell for nothing.

So now I will have to go back and fix all the spelling errors that she made.

That is the main thing we have to do to our game.

Some of the good things they said was that they liked the colors that we chose. I really liked the colors that we chose. It was her idea for those colors because she wanted to make it like monster energy.

They liked the controls of the dirt bike they said it was really fun. They said that it was a good idea but I need to but more scenes in the game.

How I use my time wisely.

First of all I do my learning log that way I have more time to work on my game. unless of course I am blogging then I do the blog first. Over the next few weeks I will mostly work on my game that should be all I am doing. Except for the weekly blog.

5 paragraph blog.

Working on our game so far has been pretty easy. Until now we have yet to have any major problems.
One of the few problems we have had is that when I got the numbers to move the rest of the level did nothing. So I had to recode all the levels so that they would work properly.

Another problem we had was that Garret needed some code from my game. So he plugged in his jump drive and saved it. But when he took it out it messed it all up so I had to get the file off of him in order to work on it.

Another problem we had was the code for the ramp made it act like a box. So when the bike went up the ramp it looked like it was jumping on a block so it looked very stupid.

Other than those minor glitches that we had it has been great. We hope to finish the game and make it educational.

progress

I have made some progress to my game I have accomplished what I said that I was going to do. I have made the numbers on my scenes move. But when I did that the code for the keyboard control didn't work. Now I have to fix that and code the rest of the numbers and make them have a hit test.

What I accomplished this week.

This week I added a new level to our game. It has a big green ramp on it and the bike jumps it and hits the monster can. I still need to add the math part to the game so it can be educational.I will try to get that scene done next week and get it uploaded to the wiki.

Thing that make my game fun.

The first thing that makes our game fun is that it is about dirt bikes. The second is that monster energy is the theme for the game. The final thing is that it is about square routes which is a easy form of math. The next thing we have to do is get a picture of Lester so we could make it look like he is riding the bike.

A non-quiz game

Our game was not really a quiz game to begin with we didn't have enough done to even see if it was a quiz game. But we still have a lot to improve on. We still have to add the math element to our game so it could be educational. We only have one level so far but it is just a tutorial at the moment. we will have as many levels as we can in our game so that it will take a while to beat. The other game I made was very short and to the point I am trying to steer away from that with this one.
We are going with a less direct approach so that is more fun to play. we are going to make this a fun and exacting game.

Improvements I have made after demo.

After the demo we had a lot to improve on but so far I have made the dirt bike jump and land on a platform. We still have to put a better story into the game so it will be more entertaining. We will also have to get a picture of Aron so we could put him on the motorcycle.

What I learned from my game demo.

I learned that we need to add a story to our game. That way it has a point so you have something to work for so it doesen't seem pointless. We will also have a character on our dirtbike it will probable be Aron or Larry. We learned alot from our game demo and will try to fit all of them into the game.
